STADT.WAND.KUNST ist Partner des EU-Projekts “FSAI”
Der Female Street Art Incubator ist ein transnationales EU-Projekt, das internationale Zusammenarbeit, Kapazitätsaufbau und kulturelle Koproduktion im Bereich weiblicher Street Art fördert. Gemeinsam bringen vier Partnerorganisationen – Obojena Klapa (Bosnien und Herzegowina), Dani urbane kulture (Serbien), Graffiti na Gradele (Kroatien) und STADT.WAND.KUNST (Deutschland) – ihre Expertise ein, um eine umfassende, gemeinsame Strategie zur Stärkung von Street-Art-Künstlerinnen zu entwickeln. Ziel ist es, konkrete Ansätze und Werkzeuge zu erarbeiten, die zur Überwindung von Geschlechterungleichheiten in der europäischen Street-Art-Szene beitragen.
The Female Street Art Incubator is a transnational EU project that promotes international cooperation, capacity building, and cultural co-production in the field of female street art. Four partner organisations – Obojena Klapa (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dani urbane kulture (Serbia), Graffiti na Gradele (Croatia), and STADT.WAND.KUNST (Germany) – are pooling their expertise to develop a comprehensive joint strategy for empowering female street artists. The aim is to develop concrete approaches and tools that contribute to overcoming gender inequalities within the European street art scene.

Im Zentrum des Projekts steht eine fünftägige Bildungsresidenz, das Female Street Art Incubator Camp. Hier kommen zehn aufstrebende Künstlerinnen zusammen, die über einen internationalen Open Call ausgewählt werden. Das Programm bietet Mentoring, kollegialen Austausch, praxisorientiertes Training sowie gezielte Möglichkeiten zur professionellen Weiterentwicklung.
Im Rahmen des Camps entwickelt jede Teilnehmerin zudem einen eigenen Mural-Entwurf, der gleichzeitig als Bewerbung für den Female Rising Star Award dient – eine vollständig geförderte Möglichkeit zur künstlerischen Umsetzung und internationalen Mobilität. Eine Fachjury wählt vier Finalistinnen aus, deren Wandbilder im öffentlichen Raum in den Partnerländern realisiert werden. Dabei setzen alle ausgewählten Künstlerinnen ihre Arbeiten jeweils außerhalb ihres Heimatlandes um, um den transnationalen Austausch und die internationale Sichtbarkeit zu stärken.
Mit einem Open Call, dem Incubator Camp und der Produktion großformatiger Murals schafft das Projekt eine lebendige Plattform für Empowerment, Sichtbarkeit und nachhaltige berufliche Entwicklung von Street-Art-Künstlerinnen – und leistet damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zu mehr Geschlechtergerechtigkeit und langfristigem strukturellem Wandel in der europäischen Street-Art-Szene.
At the heart of the project is the five-day residential programme, the Female Street Art Incubator Camp, which brings together ten emerging female artists selected through an international open call. The programme offers mentoring, peer exchange, practical training, and targeted opportunities for professional development.
As part of the camp, each participant develops her own mural design, which also serves as an application for the Female Rising Star Award — a fully funded opportunity for artistic production and international mobility. A panel of experts selects four finalists whose murals will be realised in public spaces across the partner countries. All selected artists will create their works outside their home countries in order to strengthen transnational exchange and increase international visibility.
Through the open call, the Incubator Camp, and the production of large-scale murals, the project creates a vibrant platform for the empowerment, visibility, and sustainable professional development of female street artists, thereby making an important contribution to greater gender equality and long-term structural change within the European street art scene.
